Eid Al Adha is celebrated across the country today with an array of celebrations, traditional parties, entertainment, workshops and other activities.
Public and private organizations have held events to celebrate the occasion and, as a precaution, residents and citizens are required to wear masks in enclosed public spaces such as malls, entertainment centers and restaurants. . This mandate was implemented on Thursday due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
A list of around 588 mosques and prayer places for the Eid Al Adha prayer which begins at 5:05 a.m. has been made public by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, accessible through its social media pages.
Week-long entertainment for young and old has been prepared for the holidays. At the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, Eid activities started yesterday and will continue until July 19. It will distribute Eidiya to children inside cars in the evening at its main entrances.
Building 18 will host a number of child-friendly events until the third day of Eid from 3pm to 9pm, including canvas, ceramic and face paintings, mud, balloon twists and mascot shows. The children’s theater will also offer a variety of events and workshops, such as face painting, balloon sculpting, canvas painting and ceramic painting. T-shirts and coloring books will also be distributed as gifts to children.
From the second day of Eid to the fourth day, 2D and 3D films will be screened at Al Thuraya Planetarium. And from July 9 to July 12 at the Katara Drama Theater, the drama “Karim Challenges the Leader” will be presented. Meanwhile, visitors can arrive at Katara Beach as early as 3 p.m. There is a 50% discount on water activities and those under 18 are admitted free.
Malls across the country also held celebrations for the holiday, at Al Khor Mall, a free henna drawing will be held; Hyatt Plaza hosts the Art Factory workshop until July 15; Mall of Qatar offers a series of interactive activities for children, including African circus, arts and crafts, henna, and a meeting with professional footballer Marcelo Vieira.
At the Gulf Mall, shows by magicians and clowns await children and families from July 9 to 11; The Royal Plaza shopping mall, magic show, cartoon characters, henna, face painting and balloon shaping will take place on the first three days of Eid.
Every day, 100 free gift vouchers are to be distributed; Doha Festival City is hosting a new international show and a dedicated children’s corner will run until July 16.
The Pearl-Qatar will have various celebrations including henna, art, calligraphy and painting workshops, from July 9-13 at 29 La Croisette, Porto Arabia. At the Hotel Park, from July 9 to 11, Circus Parade, Parade Musician and Kids art and craft corner will take place respectively with traveling clowns in duo.
The Msheireb Museums will host an Eid Bottle Art on July 12 and an Eid Led Light Painting on July 13 and 14 where children aged 5-7 and 8-14 are invited to participate.
Various hotels and resorts have also offered discounts and promotions in commemoration of Eid Al Adha for families who wish to make a stay during the holidays.
