Library celebrates spring with new and ongoing programs | Culture & Leisure


As the calendar shifts from February to March, local residents are beginning to think of spring with its warmer days and blooming trees and flowers. Warren County Memorial Library hopes the community will join in the celebration of the new season by enjoying programs designed for a wide range of interests.

Discussions: books


This month, the library is offering several opportunities for the community to participate in discussions related to interests ranging from books, to anime and manga, to video games.

NC Reads offers the public the opportunity to participate in statewide virtual book discussions with authors and experts. The March discussion will focus on “The Last Ballad” by Wiley Cash.

On a more local level, the Warren County Memorial Library continues its Video Game Goers Club, which meets at 3 p.m. on the fourth Monday of every month. Relaxation area

The Warren County Memorial Library offers a Relaxation Corner: Adult Coloring every Tuesday from 10-11 a.m.

Attendees can choose a design from a collection of adult coloring pages, pick up crayons provided by the library, and take time to relax while expressing their creativity.

The NC Kids Digital Library offers a number of e-books and videos designed for school-aged children at Students can use their library card or NC Kids card to access the collection. Warren County Schools has partnered with the Warren County Memorial Library to distribute NC Kids cards to schools. Maps are also available at the library.

Fun for kids

Mrs. B’s Brilliant Books will be offered multiple times in March at 10:30 a.m. I Can Read Chapter Books premieres March 10, Preschool Stories March 16, and Terrific Toddler Tales March 26. These activities are available at all times at

Local residents can help children discover the joy of reading by volunteering to star in a recorded literacy video. Volunteers will be recorded as they read books from the children’s section of the library. The videos will be available on the Warren County Memorial Library Facebook page.
