Veteran Fundraiser

TRAVERSE CITY — The Drew Kostic Memorial 5K is hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 9 at Moomers Homemade Ice Cream.

Twenty percent of purchases go to 22 2 None, a nonprofit that raises awareness of veteran suicide.

Project launches

KALKASKA – J&S Hamburg South is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for its Feed the Kids project at noon on April 12 at 107 Elm St. Restaurant staff are offering free bag meals for kids on weekends in Traverse City, Kingsley and now Kalkaska.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Peninsula Community Library is hosting its annual fundraiser at 5 p.m. on April 12.

Take-out dinner and wine for two from the Boathouse Restaurant for $150. Pay $170 to include the “Once Upon A Peninsula: A Collection of Stories and Drawings Recounting Childhood Memories” coloring book.

TRAVERSE CITY — Registered Dietitian Carol Bell leads the Gluten-Free Sourdough Class at 6 p.m. April 12 at Table Health.

UAW retirees reunite

TRAVERSE CITY — United Auto Workers retirees of Northwest Michigan gather at noon April 14 at the Slavic Evangelical Church.

Meetings are open to UAW retirees and spouses residing in Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Manistee or Wexford counties.

TRAVERSE CITY — Support local families by purchasing a $10 Simply Give card from Meijer. Each card is converted into a food-only gift card and donated to a local food pantry.
