HANNIBAL, Mo. – Hannibal Free Public Library will be celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day during the week of September 19-24.
From Monday, the official “holiday” date, the library will offer passive activities, including coloring and puzzles. A take-home craft kit for kids will be available in the kids room while supplies last. Storytimes will also be books about pirates. Preschool Storytime is on Tuesdays, Babies and Books on Thursdays and Read and Glue, for early elementary children, on Saturdays. All three programs start at 10:30 a.m.
In a press release, Assistant Director Caitlin Greathouse said: “We always have such a fun time during ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day.’ Why not make it a week? You are likely to see pirates around the building, especially during story hours.
These fun activities are free to the public and do not require a library card to participate.
