Skateboarding / dancing in college in Tigers Den

The Tigers Den is hosting a dance / skating for middle school students from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21. The Economic Development Committee meets on December 21

The economic development and airport committee of the Galion city council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21 in the boardroom of the Galion municipal building. Vaccination appointment on December 22

The Galion City Health Department, 113 Harding Way East, has appointment times for the daytime vaccination on Wednesday, December 22. Call 419-468-1075 to schedule your appointment and have all insurance information ready. Medicaid and many private insurance cards will be accepted and must be provided at time of service. Those with multiple insurance companies should bring all of their cards. No child eligible for VFC will be refused vaccination due to inability to pay. Patients and guests are kindly requested to bring their own face coverings.

Christmas candlelight services at Grace Point Church

Grace Point Church will host Christmas candlelight services on Thursday, December 23 and Friday, December 24. Christmas Eve service at Marion Salem Church

The Marion Salem Church will be hosting a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 24. “The Christmas Promises” is the title of the evening’s sermon. Parks District Vacation Calendar

The Crawford Park District Office and Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will adhere to the following times for the Christmas and New Years holidays:

• Closed Friday December 24 Christmas Eve and Saturday December 25 Christmas Day

• Closed on Friday December 31, New Year’s Eve and Saturday January 1, New Year’s Day

As of Monday, January 3, the Crawford Park district will resume normal winter hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday noon to 4 p.m. The Nature Center is closed on Sundays during the winter months. For more information, contact the Crawford Park district office at 419-683-9000.

New Crestline Gathering Meal Site

The Crestline Community Center is the new site for gathering meals sponsored by the Crawford County Council on Aging. Meals will be served to those 60 years of age during the months of November and December 2021. Meals will be served Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 am The Crestline Community Center is located at 120 North Thoman Street, Crestline. Dial 419 562-3050, option 2, to reserve your meal.

The Cookbook Club starts at the library

The Galion Public Library Cookbook Club will meet monthly at the library. The Director of Adult Programs, Katie Griffith, will host the monthly meetings, which will be held at 6 p.m. in the library community room. Each month the club will focus on a different type of food and discuss recipes, the cooking process, and cookbooks. Stop by the library to buy a cookbook for the September meeting celebrating National Rice Month. A book display for this program is located upstairs in the library. Games in the library

The Galion public library has added board and card games to its circulating collection. Games can be checked out for seven days and can be renewed up to three times if no one else has blocked them. They must be returned inside the building, not in the book depository or even in another library of the consortium. They also accumulate overdue fines of $ 1 per day if they are returned late. The library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Join the 1000 pounds before kindergarten program

The Galion public library offers the 1,000 books before kindergarten program to families. The goal of the free program is for parents to read 1,000 books to their children before they start kindergarten. For information, go to the office in the children’s room to pick up a reading book.
