It is not uncommon for many children to grow up and their parents to stop giving them Easter baskets. Although it is an accepted circumstance that people fear growing old, others do not accept this change as much. Instead, they simply replace Easter-themed bubbles and coloring books and throw in their favorite chardonnay and whimsical, decadent Easter chocolates.
Easter is such a nostalgic time for so many Americans that it would simply be a waste not to celebrate every part of the beloved holiday. Adults keep getting Christmas and birthday presents after a certain age, so why wouldn’t Easter baskets be the same?
Plus, it’s incredibly easy to create your own adult Easter basket! Places such as Walmart and Walgreens, both located here in Whitewater, offer a variety of classic Easter baskets. It’s not hard to find an abundance of sweets and snacks such as pots of gold that can come in a variety of flavors. Examples seen were chocolate pudding, cotton candy, fruit punch, and even birthday cake! Jelly beans are another sweet treat that always has a new type of bean to try and taste. There are also the classics to check out, like chocolate robin’s eggs, gummy bears and foot-long chocolate bunnies.
However, when you reach a certain age, the Egg Dye Kit and Wind-Up Chicks may not be up to your speed like when you were a kid. Instead, replace these items with other fun items geared toward adults, such as bath bombs, bath salts, adult coloring books, glitter pens, and spring-scented candles. Other ideas include beef jerky, wine jellies, and lotions.
Another creative and fun way to liven up an adult Easter basket is to take plastic eggs and place them inside age-appropriate items. These can range from alcoholic shots to flavored tea bags. Adding Easter decorations and themed items like cute signs, trinkets and DVDs is another easy way to give yourself or any other adult the perfect Easter basket.
Growing up shouldn’t mean we slowly miss out on what we’ve loved since we were kids. Easter baskets should be as timeless as dressing up in green for St. Patrick’s Day or watching the ball drop on New Year’s. Don’t be afraid to give in to those childhood wishes and throw yourself an Easter bash to remember.
