10 Things To Do This Week: Therapy Dogs, Homecoming Concert Postponed, More | CU Boulder today


This week’s events will keep you fueled up for the finals: craft and coloring nights, health and fitness sessions, the rescheduled Peach Tree Rascals concert, the International Coffee Hour, the screening of the movie “Malignant” and more.

Monday 6 December

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. UMC 330
Stop by the Center for Student Involvement for your graduation survival bag. You will find toys to relieve stress, snacks and loot. Limit of one per student while supplies last.

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wardenburg Student Health Center, West Solarium, Room 321
The finals are almost here! Join other buffs for a meditation session to help you deal with transitions and change, and learn mindfulness activities you can use while on break.

Tuesday December 7

1 p.m. to 3 p.m. UMC fountain area
There is no better friend than a furry friend. Take a study break and stop to pet a therapy dog.

5-7 p.m. In person
Let your creativity shine at DIY Night! Take a break from your studies and come make your own desk lamp. All material will be provided and each participant must register in advance. Space is limited, so register early.

Wednesday December 8

2 p.m.-5 p.m. UMC 330
Stop by the Center for Student Involvement to take a break and relax after studying for the finals. Mindful coloring, hot chocolate and tea will be available.

December 8 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wardenburg Student Health Center, West Solarium
It is important to nourish our body to keep it energized and focused. Learn how to maximize your food throughout Finals week.

Thursday December 9

December 9 10 am-11am Recreation center
Come relax and de-stress! Yoga mats will be provided and you do not need any previous yoga experience. Consider wearing clothes that will allow you to move and stretch, and don’t forget your water bottle.

7:00 p.m. UMC, Glenn Miller Ballroom $ 5
Enjoy an evening of music with the rising band Peach Tree Rascals and local artist Mr. Mota. All tickets purchased for the date of November 3 will be honored on this postponed date. Tickets cost $ 5 for CU Boulder students and $ 10 for the general public. If you have a ticket from November 3 and cannot attend the new date, you can request a refund.

Friday December 10

4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. UMC North Dining Room (near the stage), across from UMC Starbucks
International Coffee Hour is a space for international and national students, faculty and staff of CU Boulder to come together and celebrate culture and promote diversity and inclusion on campus. Everyone is welcome to attend. Free coffee and snacks will be provided. Come meet new buffs and have a great evening!

December 10 7:30 p.m. CHEM 140
Bring your popcorn and a friend and come watch Smart. Follow the story of Madison, paralyzed by shocking visions of gruesome murders. Her torment deepens when she finds out that these daydreams are in fact terrifying realities. Places are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. the film starts at 8 p.m.
